Here is the first trailer for End of Watch, which I was a little skeptical of as it uses the found-footage gimmick. Saying that, it does seem to work pretty well here; who among us didn’t like watching COPS on TV back in the day? Writer-director David Ayer (Dark Blue, Training Day) knows a thing or two about cop stories, so we are in good company there.
The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña, End of Watch opens September 28th.
A powerful story of family, friendship, love, honor and courage, End Of Watch stars Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña as young Los Angeles police officers Taylor and Zavala as they patrol the city’s meanest streets of south central Los Angeles.
Giving the story a gripping, first-person immediacy, the action unfolds entirely through footage from the handheld HD cameras of the police officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, and citizens caught in the line of fire to create a riveting portrait of the city’s darkest, most violent corners, the cops who risk their lives there every day, and the price they and their families are forced to pay.

Here is the first trailer for the 2012 Sundance film Beasts of the Southern Wild, it was met with a very positive response and watching the trailer it’s easy to see why. There is so much to see in this little trailer, it’s art that you can look at again and again. The unique visuals here are amazing, just watch it already.
The film will be at the Cannes Film Festival this month and opens in theaters on June 27th.
In a forgotten but defiant bayou community cut off from the rest of the world by a sprawling levee, a six-year-old girl exists on the brink of orphanhood. Buoyed by her childish optimism and extraordinary imagination, she believes that the natural world is in balance with the universe until a fierce storm changes her reality. Desperate to repair the structure of her world in order to save her ailing father and sinking home, this tiny hero must learn to survive unstoppable catastrophes of epic proportions.

Here is a trailer for Klown: The Movie or Clown: The Movie depending on where you live. The movie, directed by Mikkel Norgaard and starring Frank Hvam, Casper Christensen and Marcuz Jess Petersen follows two friends on a vacation deemed by them to be a “Tour de Pussy”, so there’s that.
A reader sent this in and I really wasn’t that interested until they mentioned that Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down) is set to write and star in the remake, which makes a lot of sense.
Klown will be released in theaters and VOD/Digital on July 27th.
In what critics are hailing as “the funniest movie of the year!” (IFC), KLOWN follows two wildly inappropriate friends — played by celebrated international comedians Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen — as they run amok through the Danish countryside plowing through endless awkward confrontations and unspeakable debaucheries. Hopelessly wrongheaded Frank “kidnaps” the 12-year-old nephew of his pregnant girlfriend in an eager attempt to prove his fatherhood potential to join sex-crazed Casper on his secret adulterous weekend canoe trip. From exclusive brothels, hospitalizations, armed robberies and even prison, the three paddle downstream from one chaotic misadventure to the next culminating to a surprise sentimental portrait of friendship and a final shocking reveal that you won’t soon unsee.

Warner Bros. has given us all a treat in the form of a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, “the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.” I’ve heard a few spoilers about the movie in the past few weeks (not by choice) and it still hasn’t soured this hype for me, this is going to be historic folks.
We get a lot more Bane destroying Gotham, Catwoman whispering threats and hints of an inevitable end of an era. What a ride it has been with these Batman movies, the sendoff off here should be fitting.
The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20.

Here is the first trailer for Judd Apatow’s This Is 40, the “sort-of sequel” to Knocked Up. It takes a look at the lives of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) a few years after the events of Knocked Up. There could be a great movie here, a dramedy of dealing with aging and adulthood is something Apatow should be good at as his body of work (Freaks and Geeks, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) has tackled it somewhat before.
This Is 40 opens on December 21st 2012.
Writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) brings audiences This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see firsthand how they are dealing with their current state of life.

Here is the first trailer for Lawless, a crime drama based on the novel The Wettest County in the World, it’s a great trailer with an even better cast, a must watch. Directed by John Hillcoat (The Road) the film aims to take on prohibition and the bootleggers who gain from it, that can make for some great entertainment. Did I mention Shia LaBeouf , Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman star?
Lawless opens wide on August 31st.
LAWLESS is the true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers: bootlegging siblings who made a run for the American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia. For those looking for some story with their G.I. Joe movies, this trailer is for you. I have to admit, these trailers are pretty cool, the action is heavy (as is the CGI) but looks like fun. They brought in The Rock and Bruce Willis (who plays original Joe) and it seems to be paying off.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens June 29.
