Even with a title like “Our Favorite Simpsons Episodes Ever”, we are still reluctant to say that the following episodes are in fact our favorites or even the best episodes. There is no scale for these things as you know. Kevin and I took our time and each came up with our top 10 Simpsons episodes.
Do you have a favorite Simpsons episode or moment or list to share? Comment below.

Homer the Heretic – S4E3
This episode has everything I enjoy; anti-religious sentiment, fantastic sight gags (like when Homer bounces back into the burning house) and let’s be honest; if it’s all about Homer it’s going to be great. My favorite moment has to be Homer’s morning which includes a musically charge shower, Risky Business re-enactment and his famous Moon Waffles. Ever make one of those? You die a little.

Citizen Kane | Warner Bros. | 1941 | 119 min
A psychological study of Charles Foster Kane, a powerful newspaper tycoon whose idealism was corrupted as he rose to enourmous wealth and power. The story unfolds as a mystery: when Mr. Kane dies uttering cryptic last words, a magazine reporter interviews the tycoon’s friends in an effort to uncover the significance of the word “Rosebud.”
What can you say about Citizen Kane that hasn’t already been said? Not a lot, so I will keep this review short and to the point. For anyone who has never seen the movie, now more than ever is the best time to do so, because with stunning video and audio, Citizen Kane is a must-own Blu-ray release.

NOTE: This is a repost from last year. My feelings never change.
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! I would give credit to the movie Mom who rises above the rest to become my favorite on screen Mom of all time. The film is Serial Mom (1994) and the Mom is Beverly Sutphin. Of course she doesn’t stack up with my own mother, but does anyone? Nope.
Serial Mom is an American satirical classic written and directed by John Waters and stars Kathleen Turner . I have seen the film many times now and it still makes me laugh to tears. I recommend this film to everyone, maybe even get your Mom over and make a night of it; a Kodak moment. Throughout the film Beverly Sutphin takes it upon herself to punish those who get in her way or children’s way, or simply just piss her off. Here is a list of the victims: (spoilers) (more…)

To hell with it, we’ve decided to go super optimistic with The Dark Knight Rises and have compiled a list of reasons why you should too. If The Dark Knight was the Empire Strikes Back of sequels, then TDKR is a combination of Return of the King, Last Crusade, Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Toy Story 3 and Goldfinger! How’s that for hype? July 20th, 2012 will go down in history as the day the greatest movie ever made was released and here’s why in no particular order: (more…)

Today was opening day! That means something if you’re into Baseball, but you might just like Baseball movies. So here’s a re-post of a classic Ryan article.

It’s America’s national past time, a sport that has been embraced by cultures around the world. It is a sport that has affectionately been called ‘The Greatest Game That Ever Existed’, of course I am speaking of Baseball. Over the last several years it is also a sport that has seen it’s validity called into question by performance enhancing drugs and players who have taken them. Throughout this turmoil one thing has remained constant, the fan’s have a passion for the game.
In regards to the film industry, it is fair to say that it has been a number of years since there has been anything close to a blockbuster baseball movie. With summer coming to a close and the postseason upon us it seems like the right time to discuss what can make a good baseball movie. Looking towards the future is difficult without understanding the past. In regards to baseball in film, let’s take a look at what didn’t work, what was successful, and what has yet to be done.

We’ve Only Just Begun…

Watch out J.J. Abrams! The year was 2006; the School was a teacher of film. Kevin Fraser and I were roomed together, quickly bonding over our mutual love for movies, music and disdain for a large number of people we had met at the school. We kept in touch over the years, our geographical distance did not hold us back from finally collaborating on this web site, for those of you just joining us – Kevin is the artist behind The City Strip. It took little coaxing for Kevin to agree to be part of that venture, so far so great don’t you think?
It did however take some bribing to get Kevin to agree to this post. Our respective Super 8mm School Films are below for the public to see for the very first time. These movies are by no means here to showcase our skills (we got mad ones), it’s a time capsule really of a time when kids at school picked up a camera and shot some crap. So after six years, here they are: (more…)

There are many list around the web by this time, you will find a lot of people share the same favorites, take that as a sign that those are must see movies, or ignore everyone and watch what you want, I’m not your parent.
